This Kirppu moves in the water just like a small insect would. The Siipikirppu has small tufts of hair sticking out on either side which vibrate like the legs of an insect.
The Kirppu lures are very easy to use! All you need is a thin line and a rod with a sensitive tip. Before setting the lure down, clear the hole of ice slush so that the lightweight Kirppu can sink freely. Start fishing near the bottom by shaking the rod lightly while simultaneously lifting it slowly upwards. If nobody bites, drop the Kirppu to the bottom and start again. Occasionally you’ll get a bite right near the bottom, but sometimes a fish can follow a rising Kirppu for some time before taking the bait.
